Cairo, Egypt | September 05, 2026 – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Saturday with Senior Adviser to the US President on Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos, discussing developments in the Sudan crisis and the evolving situation in Libya, along with ways to strengthen security and stability in both countries.
Focus on Halting Escalation, Humanitarian Access in Sudan
In a statement, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said the two sides addressed ongoing actions and contacts aimed at halting the escalation in Sudan and addressing the persistent deterioration of the humanitarian situation. Abdelatty underscored the importance of building on current efforts to end the conflict and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
Libya's Political Process Also Discussed
Regarding the situation in Libya, the conversation centered on ways to create conditions conducive to progress in the political process.
